Mama comes to visit.

We had a short notice visit from Kinamo's mom this weekend. She came for three days. We all enjoyed our time with her. The kids love every minute they get to spend with her. It is unfortunate that she lives so far away.

Life doesn't get better for Joey

Every night when I put the little girls to bed Haley goes in Joey's room and plays trains with him. He loves his Choo Choo and his big sister. He really loves her playing with him and gets very upset on nights when she doesn't want to play.

3 weeks and counting.

It has been over three weeks since my last coke. Doing great and working out for that rush instead.

Friends new business

Two of my friends have started their own businesses. I would love to tell you about them and maybe you will love them too.
First is my friend Bonnie. She is a trendy dresser and is always looking for modest, trendy, affordable clothes. So she started her own web business. She asked me to model some of her clothes. Go to her web page and check it out. http://www.modestthreadz.com/catalog/

My other friend is Jaimie Haley. She is the one who took our family photo's. She did an amazing job. Even the people at the shop where I got the kids photo's blown up to 16X20 prints went crazy over the amazing job she did. Check out her blog at http://www.jaimiehaleyphotography.blogspot.com/

Ashley starts basketball

Yesterday was Ashley's first basketball game. She has been playing basketball at home and has a natural dribble. Now that she is five she is old enough to play on a team. She had a great time. For me it was just like watching her dad play. She played with his intensity and passion. She also has his energy. She ran up and down the court with more speed and passion then any other player. Ashley also scored a basket. Final score 16 to 22.

Celine Dion

Over ten years ago Kinamo and I bought tickets to go see Celine for our wedding anniversary. Being pretty new to the Air Force we didn't think to put in for leave. Needless to say when the concert came Kinamo was on a three week deployment. I was so bummed about it. I sold our tickets to some neighbors. Then a few years later I went with Paula to Las Vegas for a wedding. We saw all the signs for Celine's Vegas show and went to see if we could get tickets. We found out that the show didn't start for a few weeks. So for over ten years I have been waiting to see her live in concert. Jan 7 she came to San Antonio and I finally got to see her. Believe me it was so worth the wait. She is amazing. How can someone so small have such a powerful voice? Celine is an amazing performer. I loved every minute.

This is me and my dear friend Kim.

These are two of my favorite songs. Taking Chances was our theme song last year while Kinamo was looking for a new job.

Because I love you came out the summer summer we got married.

Coke Update

Well, it has been one full week off Coke. I am feel really good. I have been tempted several times to run by Sonic. But felt strong enough to drive on passed. It does feel great not to have the ups and downs from the caffeine.

Coke overdose

For many years I have had an addiction to the "Real Thing". I tried so hard to give Diet Coke a chance, but it just doesn't do it for me. After battling with the guilt of drinking the calories and trying to loose a few pounds I have decided to give it up cold turkey. No substitutes and no "just this one". I will be coke free until Valentines Day. To end this addiction I decided to have one last coke to celebrate New Year's with. I went to the local convenience store and bought a 44oz coke. I have seen so many people drinking this size, but never have myself. So as the evening went on and my drinking continued I started feeling dizzy and a little light headed. After only being able to drink 30 oz I gave up and dumped the rest out. Needless to say I was up most the night. I guess there is one way to break an addition, just overdose on it and the desired for another drink is gone!!!
Follow my progress and check in on me.

2008 Best Finds

In 2008 I found several things that are my "best finds". If I were Oprah these are what I would be buying all my friends.

1. Dyson ball vacuum. So easy to use. Great suction and light weight. Worth every penny.

2. Temperpedic mattress. Now this is a high ticket item. We joke about our "million" dollar mattress. But it is the best million dollars I have ever spent. I love it so much that I find any excuse to curly up in it even if it is for only 2 minutes.

3. Aveno lotion. I had really dry skin this fall and tried a ton of products. Once I found this lotion my search stopped and no more problems.

4. Emeril non stick pans. I have had nothing but cheap pans for years. So I was out shopping one day and went into "Linens and things" going out of business sell. I found this set that was missing one pan so they sold me the set for only $40. It was originally price $299. I love them so much that I probably would spend the $299.

5. Sogo's smoked turkey panini. So worth the $7.50.

If you have a must buy please let me know.
